This is a meditation based upon Psalm 12.
It’s the simplest of prayers, but the most efficient and to-the-point.
It works best when you are frustrated beyond words
Like when you discover your best friends aren’t friends at all.
Sometimes you ask yourself, “Whatever happened to sincerity anyway?
All I hear are …
Double speak, from both corners of their mouths
Blah-blah, blah-blah, blah-blah”
Maybe you feel you’d like to give them a piece of your mind
To tell them a thing or two
Maybe you need to clarify what sort of “help” you’re requesting of God.
Is your prayer “God help me!” or is it “God help me get even!”?
What if you helped someone else instead of stewing in your own frustration?
There is plenty of need …
The poor, who are devastated
The helpless, who are crying
Those who yearn for security
Maybe you’re supposed to be the one helping.
Maybe you are the answer to your own prayer.
