A meditation based upon Psalm 149

There are already many great songs of praise

But let’s make up a new one

Because the Divine is worthy of a new tune

It could be about our joy

Or a children’s song

Maybe we could dance along with the music

and accompany it with tambourine and harp

I have a feeling that the Holy One will love it

no matter how we sing

so long as our hearts are in the right place

We can sing our new song from anywhere

even from our beds

It will be a lofty time that makes the world seem alright

once again
