MAJESTIC

A meditation based upon Psalm 8

We use the word “majestic” to describe only a few things in life

Mountains too big for any other word, is one example

The Divine, is another

Although

Trying to describe the Divine often puts us at a loss for words

Contemplating the Divine causes us to stop

to ponder other things that are majestic

like moons and stars

It can put us in our place

help us to realize we are not the center of the universe

And yet

It can also help us realize how vast

among all of this excellence

is our obligation to take care of it all

A majestic task
